Somethings 2

(update below)
Some words are just meant to be frozen in time....in the mind. There wouldn't be a meaning to this blog if i didn't put this up... (though am sure most of u wud prefer to continue commenting on the prev post after wat nil started!)

Sometimes we love with nothing more than hope.
Sometimes we cry with everything except tears.
In the end, that's all there is : Love and its duty, sorrow and its truth.
In the end, that's all we have - to hold on tight until the dawn.

--Gregory David Roberts ( in Shantaram)

UPDATE 6/5/06 : Happy birthday Anu!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May u live to blow a 1001 candles and bug your great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren!! May the best come your way this year...good luck. Have a rocking day!

UPDATE 2 : The pallis (geckos/lizards) in chennai have become so fearless these days....they walk right across the floor when you're walking....argh! Bloody reptiles....they look terrible without the tails! not like they look great otherwise....but still!

yeah ... thats the one Divya had just sent and I told you about Anu. Guess well you got to read it :). Greg's style of writing is so .... honest ... I think is the word. He writes about things the way they are ... and although for certain things, doing that with words is so hard, he still does it. If there's someone reading or gonna read the book, take some time to ponder over these philosophies he writes. Dont jus read it and finish it. Experience it.
Guess I gotta remove it from my blog now :D ... I dint even see your blog divs! sorry :D ...

Ram said...

and btw ... looks like ive missed commenting on some really interesting posts :) ... you are picking up a very distinct style of writing divs ... its a whirlpool :) ... reading you posts ...

Maharaj Nilesh ki jai ho! said...

i rembr that good frm far but far frm good abt the person...but not in tuch with her anymore..so thats nice...i jus don like one way communication u knw...anyways....

Div said...

vinay - welcome back! after a decently long exam, break i shud say ;-) n i din even see it on your blog....! Don remove it or anything...blogs are for puttin up things that influence in some way...even if it meant just shutting the book and not being able to read for 2 days after that :D and ofcourse for all the crap that comes to the mind at some point of time! don remove it. and honest, is indeed 'the' word...some gifts, are spectacularly personal...they rock. :D

and...pl do comment on the posts!!! ;-) i'll definitely counter-comment... :D pleasure! n there's a style??!! Yippppeeeee!!the WHIRLPOOOOL style! lol...

nil - i still like the phrase ;-)

divs...about the pallis....the reptiles in ahmedabad(specially in the hostel of NID ) are ugly globular creatures which are like hideous and semi black and semi transluscent....believe me the lovely madras brown ones look beautiful compared to them...!

tribanga said...

for starters..we dont have the lizards here..we are still in the stage where people are taking pictures of squirrels!!! hehe

yeah i finally got to read it ram..i will start reading the book very soon

divs, i knew you would know what i was talking about with regard to the smile..

niles has always had a way with words..he wrote me something once which i am not going to reproduce here but i still have that paper by the way..niles, you know which one i am talking about..the God's wonder thing..that was really nice

i guess as long as the words you write have pure intent and are 'honest' as you described, then it can possess you and really capture you...i am trying and i hope to write like that someday :D

Div said...

madhu - i find it difficult to digest the fact that u called pallis beautiful...!

Anu - :D i dopnt think anybody wud not want to write like that some day... :)
